To any photographers or artists that wish to have their copyright and intellectual property respected, I would not recommend working with Stuart Molyneux, or as he is known on Facebook ‘Stuart Raveto Thegrave’. I was a photographer at Wattfest 2012, at which I took a photograph of Stuart, which I watermarked and uploaded to Facebook. I got a notification a few days ago to tell me that Stuart had used my photo as a profile picture. I thought this was nice, but when I checked his profile photo, he had cropped out the watermark, and written no credit to me anywhere with the picture. When I approached Stuart to politely ask if he could include a credit to me, he refused, and asked me what proof I have that the picture is mine. Even after proof was provided, Stuart continued to protest, and said that he will only write me a credit to suggest any festivals avoid using me as a photographer, as apparently I have ‘ego with attitude’.
I considered Stuart to be my friend, and yet he did this anyway. I found him to have a total lack of respect, and personally will never work with him again, so I would suggest you give careful thought before you ever do.
